You all know how we here at Beloved Earth love our animal friends <3 ; They’re our babies, and we’ve gotta watch out for them, especially when they go outside. The gross stuff in this road-salt (see post below) is full of acids and little pebbles of gunk… So you’re taking your dog for a walk. Salty.

It’s icy here in Massachusetts. The snow melts during a particularly warm portion of the day, then the ground stays wet until the below-freezing chill which occurs just an hour or two later. (Gotta love the unpredictability of New England weather!) So in turn, there are barrels of sandy salt, used for roads and highways, all over town. Evidently, the dirt mixed with salt provides traction to clean snow and ice, but also creates polluted water once melted. Look for some Environmentally friendly ice melter! It’s not free, but its about a dollar per pound, and some of this stuff...
